We are proud to be St Andrew’s CE Primary School!
We are proud to be named after Jesus’ disciple and friend St Andrew! St Andrew features regularly in the gospels.
Saint Andrew was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. His brother was Saint Peter. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland and of Russia.
Andrew and his brother were fishermen. They were called from their fishing by Jesus, who promised to make them ‘fishers of men’. That is why we have a fish as part of our school logo and why we have so many fish and sea creatures around our school!
We celebrate St Andrew’s Day each year in St Andrew’s Church. We sing our special ‘Hymn to St Andrew’ which was written especially for us and has even been recorded on a CD!
When you visit our school, try and count all the fish and sea creatures that you can see! Good luck!
