Agents for Change

There are many instructions from Jesus throughout the Bible about helping others:

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12

“Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.” Matthew 5:42

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

At St Andrew’s we help those who need it so that everyone can live ‘Life in all its Fullness’.

Archbishop of York’s Young Leaders Award

The children in our Year 5 class work all year towards achieving their Young Leaders Award by ‘Being the change they want to see’. In recent years, the children have organised their own fundraising events in order to raise money for a wide range of projects including new toys for the the local Mother and Toddler group and a much needed new bin for the recreation ground!

Kindness Keepers

Through our home/school value of ‘Justice’ our Year 6 children consider discrimination in all its forms and how it threatens our Golden Rule of ‘Kindness’. They visit each class to work with the children so that they know how to ‘call out’ discrimination and keep the kindness that we value so highly at St Andrew’s. Our Year 6’s are great ambassadors for our school and excellent role models!

Charity events

At St Andrew’s we fund raise for a very wide range of charities and events – often having a lot of fun in the process!
