Outdoor Learning at St Andrew’s

St Andrew’s is in a wonderful rural setting and the children have lots of opportunities for outdoor learning throughout the year.

Outdoor learning offers the children regular opportunities to achieve and develop skills, confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences. Outdoor learning, used in a range of ways, enriches our curriculum, and makes learning fun, meaningful and relevant for our children.

We have several outside areas that form part of our outdoor learning spaces at St Andrew’s. These include:

– Our pond area
– The EYFS and Key Stage 1 learning gardens
– A large school field
– Our outdoor learning ‘hub’/allotment at the back of the Year 5 classroom
– Our sand pit area
– Covered learning area at the back of Key Stage 1
