Church School

St Andrew’s School is a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School and Nursery in the Diocese of St Albans. The whole school frequently walk to St Andrew’s Church for celebrations and special school services. These services are led by the local clergy. The clergy regularly come in to lead worship in school and are often accompanied by our worship bear. We consider ourselves very fortunate that members of the congregation and village community support our School in so many ways and are regular visitors.

Our School Prayer

This is our school
Let peace dwell here
Let the room be full of happiness
Let love abide here
Love of one another
Love of learning
And love of God
Let us remember
That many hands build a house
But many hearts make a school.   Amen.

Collective Worship

Whether it is held indoors, outside, or at St Andrew’s Church, collective worship is the heartbeat of St Andrew’s and highly valued by the whole school community. A collective act of Christian worship is held daily and Reverend Steve  visits our School fortnightly to lead worship. Mrs Cowley leads us in joyful praise during our singing worship sessions and our Year 6’s lead Celebration Worship on Fridays.

Parents and carers are invited to join us each Tuesday – please see our Diary Dates.

Rooted in Bible teaching, everyone is invited to explore and respond to Christian values which we hope will develop spirituality and inspire action.

Parents have the right to withdraw their children from collective acts of worship.
